Whether you're deciding to grow a beard out for the first time, or you've been growing an epic mane for months (or years), and you want to know: What is the difference between beard oils and balms? While we do recommend all our beard care products in the store there are situations where one or the other could be the solid choose so let's break it down for you.
Beard Oil
This product is definitely more suitable for the early stages of beard care, however, whether you're just starting to grow your beard out, or you've been on your beard journey for years, we all inevitably face the beard itch when our skin starts to dry out beneath our beards. This may not sound like too big of a deal deal but when this does start to occur, and pores begin to clog, beard growth can be hindered or prevented.
What a quality beard oil will do for you is to lock in moisture, especially after cleansing (shower, face washing, etc), to keep the beard and the skin beneath moisturized and nourished with vitamins and minerals the beard needs to grow effectively while relieving you of the dry, flaky and itchy skin.
Add in an amazing scent to the mix (join our newsletter for future scent releases) and not only are you nourishing your beard but adding your favorite aroma to your beard care routine to keep your nose as satisfied as your beard and skin.
Our signature blend beard oil is designed to both strengthen and soften your beard at the same time by deep conditioning and hydrating your whiskers. We even conveniently offer both spray tops for the shorter bearded men and dropper bottle lids for the longer beards out there.
Beard Balm
This product is designed for the longer beards. Balm is thicker in viscosity and is a hybrid conditioner and style aid grooming essential for beards. Our signature blend balms carry many of the same ingredients as our oil to keep the beard hydrated and nourished but with the addition of shea butter and beeswax to act as a styling agent.
If you've grown your beard out to any length then you'll know we often fight stray hairs, curls that refuse to fall in line, and growing in every direction but down. Beard balm will save you from many of these issues as it will help hold the beards form while training the direction of growth and keeping it soft and feeling great.
Not only will balm assist in holding your beard's style but also seal in moisture and protect the hair from any environmental stressors. We're men after all. Our beards are put to the extremes often. Protect your investment by adding our signature blend beard balm to your beard care routine.

In the end it is your choice to decide between a quality beard oil, a beard balm, or using them both together. I know I do. There's something euphoric with rubbing a bit of beard oil through my mane after a hot shower to hydrate and moisturize following by a good styling with some quality beard balm.
Until next time, gentlemen.
